Question re ASICap ADC

Hi,
Can anyone tell us what the ADC feature in ASICap actually does? When you click on it the red & blue circle float around, and from what we can gather in the instructions, you click on it again when the two circles are on top of each other.

And this calibrates what??
Considering we are capturing RAW data in FITS or SER files what can the software be doing to the captured data?

We have searched the config.ini file and there are no variables pertaining to ADC in there.

Does it just affect the preview screen?
How can software correct atmospheric dispersion in anycase?
BTW the camera is an ASI224.

Any help in understanding this setting and what it is doing to the data or camera would be greatly appreciated
Thanks.

Hi Peter & Clare
I believe that this feature is to be used along with the adc device and does not actually correct dispersion itself, but helps you calibrate the device. By oversaturating and creating blue/red circles you then adjust the adc adjustment knobs until they overlap.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for that.
This makes sense as neither of us could figure how it would work on its own. The instructions weren't very clear.
