Thanks Martin. These are a wonderful resource for those starting out or changing / trying out new gear. I’ve personally benefited from a couple of your procedures. Saved me literally days of trial and error!

Wow, what a treasure trove! Might be worth popping them in the files section of the IIS site;

Cheers and thanks for posting such a valuable resource

A big thanks from me Martin.. I will be bringing out a book almost identical so you have to marvel at the co incidence: lol:

Just arrived home but will be printing them out today.

AND if there are any Mods reading would it not be worthwhile to make this thread a "Sticky" as these notes of Martins are gold.

Huge thanks to Martin,
I personally didn't know about the procedure for
Aligning and stacking multiple files in Deep Sky Stacker,
Great work there.

Cheers Martin and thanks for posting such a valuable resource. I agree with Marcus that these files should be in the file section or maybe a sticky. For someone I believe only started out 4 or 5 years ago it is a great effort and wow your learning curve has been steep.
Regards, Richard

Thanks Richard
Yeh I started my Astro journey in late 2016 reading , researching , watching videos etc... for about 6 months and then bought my first visual scope early 2017 , retired late 2017 and that allowed me to focus more of my time into the hobby including Astrophotography
Late starter but enjoying the journey, it’s such an incredible hobby and experience
Cheers
Martin

Well it certainly forced me to persevere with the stupid new printer that quiet a few times nearly got the axe....and the really annoying thing when it finally started working I could not work out what thing I had fixed...I hate that...deprives you of the satisfaction of getting it working.

Been reading thru and I have yet to notice any spelling or grammatical problems but I tend to over look such things as I believe those things are secondary to the communication of the ideas and certainly in that regard Martin you have done a fantastic job.

A huge shout out to Martin for the valuable resource he has created.

Martin’s instructions for connecting a Synscan EQ mount to my laptop using an EQMOD cable worked a treat. I now have full control of the mount, access to plate solving etc from my laptop. Fantastic upgrade from previously driving the mount via the WIFI dongle.

Thank you martin.
