Looks very refined to me, Col.

I picked up some second (Third? Eighth?) -hand glass last week, one big, one little. 12.5" meade starfinder and canon 70-200mm f4 lens.

Love the performance altitude rims you’ve fitted there Col. I’m sure you see Jupiter faster and your cornering will be greatly improved too.

grab and go upgrade

I ordered a skywatcher az gti with eq kit from Andrews during the week, and it arrived as i was packing the car for a long weekend to Coonabarabran and surrounds. Took the big mount out of the car, this one in!

I need to get home to update the firmware for eq mode, but the counterweight and bar came in handy in alt az mode, too. The WO zenithstar 81 with finder, diagonal and eyepiece is pushing its payload limit, and the counterweight balanced the whole mount nicely.

Set up was easy, alignment was fine, and after two or three objects GOTO was spot on. I was running it on 8 AA batteries which also went well. I think the whole set up is around 10kg. Its certainlyoff to a good start. Also incl is a 30s pic at 24mm focal length, taken out the back of our accommodation at Pilliga Pottery, a very, very dark place

New focuser, the last of my red themed July scope bling arrived -- ADM saddle, Moonlite focuser, & ZenithStar 73mm, all nicely highlighted in red.

Pics: In the garage when it was still light, out under the stars tonight, & an iPhone up to the eyepiece shot (EP = 35mm Panoptic.)

My Zwo ASI462MC shipped today too, while it won't be July bling it'll mean better moon shots in the future I hope.

My Scope with its new MoonLite Focuser ...!!
With 4.5 inches of draw tube travel, I doubt that any eyepiece wouldn't come to focus.
Nice piece of kit .. !!

A bit cloudy but, unlike with imaging, it only takes a few minutes to set up. Love Baader click-lock, how could I ever stargaze without it? Oh yes, I hardly did any stargazing in the past
