Trifid Nebula

Another experiment..600 subs some 15 seconds, some 30 seconds , some 300 gain, some 350 some 450 gain..ZWO cameras..mono with HA and OSC.
thru 115 mm.

Stacked the lot against all the rules and did my best.

..tried to colour in some stars but that did not work out too well.

Alex,
This image has great structure with plenty of fine detail. I think you have oodles of data here to play with, if the colour balance were more in sync then you on your way to a winner. The stars look to be misaligned when stacking however giving that appearance of multi coloured stars. Perhaps stack each filter set separately and then combine by manual overlay in photoshop (perhaps require a slight rescaling to fit.
Even still that aside, a nice triffid!

Top work!

Anthony

Thank you Anthony.

I was unable to do my usual cull and frankly I rushed thru this attempt and even when the total stack showed why you should always do a cull I accepted second best ... I think I am also excited by what you can get away with both via two cameras and varying settings...I just need to dial back the variables now that I have completed my tests.

You are correct with all you say and I will start over and do it correctly...however I am very busy with other things so I will have to fit it in somehow.

Thanks again.
Alex

Alex, love the TS 115mm optics. Not so sure about the colour, but hey, it's Art.
