Matching CMOS pixel size with telescope FL

My CMOS camera, 294c, pixel size is 4.63 micron and the telescope FL size is 540mm. I appreciate any one comment how to match the pixel size with the telescope FL for plenary imaging. Regards. Manoocher

Scroll, down, enter your particular details:

https://astronomy.tools/calculators/ccd_suitability

Suitability for planetary imaging will also mean taking into consideration a barlow or extender - which lengthens your focal length. What aperture is your scope, because as is it sounds fast/wide, which is not ideal for planetary (planetary imaging starts over f/8...usually f/15 and beyond.

Hi Manoocher.

You will be straggling to get any detail of any planet with that FL of your telescope and ZWO294 camera.

Your set up is good for DSO.

Use the telescope field of view calculator to see what view you get with your set up.

This is what you'll get with your current set up and Jupiter. A 2X Barlow doesn't make much difference - you'd have to REALLY crank up the magnification like a 5X Barlow...and as you see, it's still tiny.

Your rig really isn't suited to planetary. It's a wide-field/diffuse nebulae setup.

EDIT: IGNORE the scope size - it makes no difference anyway, as it's the FL we need to talk about

Here is my scope - f/15 (900mm) native with a 5X Barlow and the ASI533. Still small, and that's at 4500mm (f/75 lol) with a 5x...

There’s a small program put out by New University Press for Windows. Google it. It gives you a visual indication of your FOV and plenty of options to choose scope camera combinations.

OR just use the online one I'm showing Pete. It does visual and imaging, as well as CCD suitability calculators in various seeing.
