Hi Guys,
Any suggestion you might have to resolve this - or maybe its move to a better remote control program for my observatory.
I am not sure if its the server or the viewer on my WIndows 11 Workstation or the Antivirus suite (Avast Premium) - but when I launch VNC viewer on my WIndows 11 workstation it all works fine for 2-3 minutes then just freezes. There is no screen saver or any changes on the viewer - so I am pondering what has changed. Al l I can do is halt the program and restart it.
My main Workstation has had a Windows 11 2024H2 update - that is the only change on this side I am aware of - but the Antivirus / Firewall suite may have changed and I would never know!
On my WIndows 11 machine when I relaunch VNC viewer everything runs fine - for 2-3 minutes then instant freeze.
I will try the viewer on a Windows 10 machine next to see if I can isolate the issue.
Open to any suggestions - I don't think its the astrolab PC - nothing is changed there - or the network.
Possibly Avast Premium Security Virus and Firewall is misbehaving.
Otherwise anyone recommend what is the best remote control software nowadays?
Thanks Matt
PS
My WIndows 10 PC seems rock solid - so I looks like either a Windows 11 or Avast issue

When a Windows 10 machine is running VNC viewer - the WIndows 11 machine running a VNC viewer isn't locking up - making me think something about Windows 11 and Avast is making VNC think it has dropped the connection on the host - but when two PCs are in contact - the live connection to the WIn 10 machine is keeping the WIn 11 machne connection alive too.
I am definitely starting to suspect Avast!
