22nd May. Lots of solar activity

22nd May.
Lots of solar activity today and a clear sky ! Three images shown - first is at 540 nm showing the sunspot groups mainly in the northern hemisphere (ARs are numbered). There is a new sunspot group on the E limb that will probably be AR 3020. The second and third images are at Ha wavelength 656 nm thru a Lunt 100 scope (SS). There are lots of prominences around the limb. All three images are single exposures with a Canon 550d camera. Thanks for viewing.

Great shots as usual John. Still don't quite understand how you manage this with just single exposures. Good to see the sun action today, it was foggy and thin cloud here all day.

Hi Bob, The first image was taken thru a WO 81 mm refractor with herschel wedge (Baader continuum filter which screws into the wedge).

Regards John W.
