Adaptive Optics

Does anyone know of any real Adaptive Optics products available to the public? I know about the SBig AO7 device to improve guiding but I mean a true variable mirror for the main camera. Is there anything coming at all?

True adaptive optics use deformable mirrors, complex multi position pistons/arms, high power laser etc etc..

Mate, you got a few million ?, then give them a call.
Else, stick to whats available.

You can use piezo devices to drive a mirror to cut costs and a wavefront sensor doesn't need lasers. The Laser Guide Star approach uses lasers.

I was asking if there was anything being planned, I guess not.

A piezo device is not going to deform a mirror, unless its micro thin.
Plus you need to see the actual turbulance, thus exciting the atoms at the particular layer in the atmosphere.

It will be a long time before we see this method used in the amauter world.
But stranger things have happened.
