Tribalism certainly is destructive.
One must wonder where the human race could get to if so much energy was not wasted to satisfy that base desire.. no wars, I expect no churches, no sport...millions of energy units saved. We could provide home for the homeless, educate all to much higher standards and build battle stars and interstellar craft enabling colonisation of distant worlds spreading humanity to insulate it from being destroyed if say confined to one planet that becomes broken.
It is unfortunate that we are the only species who understand that our destruction is inevitable and yet do nothing to find alternative digs.
