Smile Good spots for observation in Illawarra?

Hi ladies and gents,

I am a beginner. I've just bought an Astro telescope - Sky Watcher Dobsonian 8'' solid tube. I live in Wollongong city and the light pollution from Bluescope factory is terrible. I can only see <100 stars without using binoculars. Could you please share some really good spots for observation in Illawarra area? I've got a SUV. And also I'd like to join a local group so that I can learn from the experienced. Could you please also share this info as well?

I appreciate for your replies!!!

Hi Daniel,
Welcome to IIS. Enjoy your stay.

There are 2 clubs in the Illawarra that you can join, if you want.
I belong to the W.A.A.C.ers, (that's waacers, not wank......s.)
