This is interesting
I wonder if this heralds a way to do half reasonable narrowband imaging with a chilled colour camera.

Instead of an RGGB matrix filter it has a RLGLGLBL TrueSense Sparse Color Filtermatrix - thats 50% L
So if you could get the raw data and do something with DCRaw you might be able to use the L component.

Just a thought !

That chip has been around for ages. Its taken a long time for it to hit the shelves.

R Jay Gabany I think it was, did a test image with one of these chips ( it was Apogee Ascent camera). Have a look at that. It was an impressive image but then its R Jay Gabany at the helm.

I met him at AAIC and I talked with him a lot. He's a great guy and a great sense of humour.

I found the 8050 image by Jay. Its the most impressive one shot colour image I have ever seen.

But its shot with a 20 inch RCOS and from the Sierra's where Martin images.
