David,

Wow .... and I mean seriously Wooooow! That is a top quality shot. Well focused, detailed and no movement blurring. I do a bit of bird photography but I've never achieved a photo like that. Do you mind sharing the technical details?

Thanks for the comments, and no problems.

I shot it with my Canon 80D on a 300mm lens.
F/5, 1/1600, ISO400.

I actually got a good series of when he was about to land, then the landing itself.

The colour, detail, sharp focus and in particular, the subject isolation, are number 1.

Great shot. Just caught the stall action.. A lot of details of feather and movement there that are rarely caught.
