Hi all,
As a bit of an experiment I shot a series of 30 second unguided shots with the modified Canon 50d on a SW Pro 100mm refractor using a LPS filter.
With Eta I got 59 subs with a bit of manual dithering and a resultant crop, while with IC2602 I stacked 49 subs and no dithering at all was used. Processed in Images Plus.
I expected to see more noise - so I was happy with the results.
Previously I posted that I had an odd problem with the camera - I had it investigated and seems likely due to low voltage.
Thanks Marc , Peter
I was pleased to get 110 subs and only have to discard one as well.
I will use my autoguider setup (OAG, DSI, PHD2, dithering on IP). The Dragons of Ara are calling as next target so I will be interested to compare the high ISO shots with my previous result.
Cheers
Glenn
I really like that you can't see that many tiny stars in the end image. I am always getting way too many of them and can't control them in processing.
I have tried Star Tools for a while, watching every tutorial I could find on Youtube but the end result was not good.
Maybe the new camera will help a little bit ... still waiting for that clear sky night to test it.
