Thought I would share a couple of my happy snaps at Lostock. I enjoyed watching the comet and hearing the excitement from the accompanying amateur astronomers.

Hi [1ponders], we went on the south west escarpment near 'Bald Knob' on the way to Landsborough it was quite busy, got a nice shot of the Glasshouse Mountains by the way
It's most likely camera shake and trailing of the object across the sensor. John Bortle made the comment on the comets-ml list a few days ago that you would not normally expect nucleus splitting to be seen in camera-based images before it was observed telescopically and with much larger instruments.
heres one from tonight overlooking adelaide suburbs at a quickie viewing spot - didnt thunk it was gonna clear that well this evening!! definately need dark skies now eh! but those clouds and LP reflecting ruined them a bit - amazing week of weather coming for us this week? mebbe?

Only a very tiny smear of cloud on the horizon in Kilcoy.
Got another new observing spot only walking distance from home. Excellent position on the top of the hill. I'm set for the next few days until a house will interfere with the view. But if need be, the owners said I can set up in their back paddock.
I was really glad that the clouds cleared over Canberra long enough tonight for me to see the comet. It's definitely the best one I have ever seen that's for sure!
I took a bunch of photos tonight, with my Panasonic DMC-TZ1 camera. I don't have a tripod for it (yet) but the handrail on the veranda did a good job. These aren't as impressive as the other ones posted here, but I thought I'd share anyway

I'm hoping to get some more tomorrow night Last night it had the most amazing tail, but unfortunately I didn't get out soon enough to get any good pics.
I've shot film - 400ASA slide - so far I have sunsets, cloud, smoke, ocean, boats on the horizon, planes flying under the sun and seagulls! And groups of people looking sadly into the distance.
If the clouds clear, I'll load another slide film for tonight.

this shot was taken with a bunch of others on saturday 20th. exif data should be avaliable if you want it...
I also took my slr (film) up but havent got the pics back yet. I dont know if they are gunna be over exposed of not. I'll find out at lunch i guess
they were take with a eos3000n / 200mm @ f/5.6 and a mixture of 10 to 30 sec exposures. I also got the moon in... should be interesting to say the least.
Up here in Mackay we are lucky if we even catch a glimpse of it. Cloud cover in the last two weeks combined with the glare of the sun at sunset make this comet so damn difficult to see compared to the southern parts of Australia.
