Decided to re process NGC 5128 Centaurus captured back in March this year mainly because I wasn’t happy with the previous image. Even though it was only a single night capture ( about 4 or 5 hours total integration) down at my Dome under Bortle 3 skies , the data set was pretty clean.

Full calibration suit ( Flats , Dark Flats , Darks )
Stacked in ASTAP
Processed in Startools v1.8
Binned to 65% to improve SNR
Increased ROI in AutoDev stretch
Bumped up Gamma a few notches
Increased Sharpening a few notches
Increased SV Decon to 14 iterations , adjusted de ringing to suit
Changed colour mode to RGB ratio / Luminance retention
Increases De noise to compensate for above changes
In pretty happy with this latest version , a bit more detail, brightness and contrast than the original
Thanks Mike,
Appreciate your comments
Yea I played around with the halo colour and yes agreed it’s a tad too blueish but I also bumped up the red and green to give that traditional tan halo colour but I noticed it did hide some of the fainter filigree either end of the main band so left it a tad blueish.
SV Decon worked well in tightening up all the detail ( de blur )
Pretty happy with this re process with only a hand full of hours on this Galaxy.
Cheers

Nice one Martin. Glad to see you managed to find a hole in the clouds!! I think your dark sth coast sky has helped to pick up that very expansive halo- it never quite looks that big from the burbs! Nice faint detail.
Thanks Dave,
From my Sydney B8 location I’d never get a result like that , even with a stack load of hours
Nothing beats darker skies for Broadband imaging during the New Moon period , especially galaxies
