Well I've come to the conclusion that we are a magnificent looking bunch on this fine forum so the next logical step is a calendar. Not like Manpower or AFL/NRL players - no, something more warm & fuzzie with our telescopes! It'll sell like hot cakes & women will find us very appealing.....ok,ok- if not a calendar, what about a stubbie holder? :-)

Hi Tony,
it's a 16" (41cm) f4.5 Meade Starfinder Newt with an 8" f4 Vixen Newt as a guidescope. The mount is a standard Meade Satrfinder mount with a parts upgrade from Australias very own Anssen Technology - wheel, worm, motors, gears, and electronics.
To see more about the scope (if interested) go to:
http://www.possumobservatory.co.nz/10-B-16 '%20Meade%20Eq.htm
or

Cheers
John

Wow...thats a big fella! You don't appreciate the size of a large telescope until you see someone standing next to it for comparison.

I understand completely. My 31mm Naglar 2" barrel EYEPIECE has a larger diameter than the objective of my first telescope!

Hey, your right.
You can see it's proper size with someone standing next to it!
Ron has modelled with it for us. Thanks Ron.

Hence the reason I recently crawled inside my scope to do prime focus astrophotography like David Malin at the AAO.
Cheers for the image.
