Meade lx 200 16"

Hi Guys.
Ive come into a MEADE LX200 16" ACF, with a pier mount (I think its 34 deg's but not sure). Its Never been used and is still in the boxes (pallets)
Ive got no real idea about the true value of the beast. Im tossing up weather to sell it on, or ship it home and use it which would require house mods!!.

Any ideas what its worth? What would you do ??

Any help greatly appreciated...

If you've been given a beast like that I'd keep it and put it to good use.

You know there are precious few of these in the country and every single second-hand sale would be known about in this community, so some of us already know about this bargain you picked up. Why not just put it up for a reasonable sale price in the classifieds here?

Hi Con.

Thanks for the reply. For one, Im only anew member and cant place adds, I had to resign up on the forum.
2. Im not sure what you mean by bargain? I feel it was but im not sure, that why im asking people who have more knowledge of these things than I do.
I got offered $6k for it. Is that reasonable? I just dont know.

I saw this one on FB and was very sus about it, all the hallmarks of a scam at the time in terms of something attractive being sold way too cheap.

If you bought it at the price offered (Which I am not going to mention) then good luck to you. If I were in those shoes I reckon I would ship it home and find a way to make use of it rather than sell it.

yea, I thought it was too good to be true also. But a bit of investigation and it turned out to be as advertised. There was a lot of people saying it was a scam (and still are) which is understandable, but those guys all had the same opportunities to make calls to the seller etc and ascertain the validity, that I did. Im on the other side of the country and made it happen!...So im more than happy to let it go for a bargain price, im just not sure that that price should be..

Well, advertising it for $1.2M dollars was probably not the best move on your part either.

No, that was clearly $12345 which is standard ops on buy sell sites when the price is not being advertised. Something tells me you know that tho

Nope, I just signed up when I heard there was a 16" SCT for $5,000 so I'm newer there than you. Alas I don't want one on a wedge.
