Guide scopes.

I have yet to find one with which I am satisfied. Red dot finders are no help. I bought a Celestron that was plastic rubbish and had insufficient adjustment plus the reticle was blurred. I find that optical scopes are quite heavy and tend to play havoc with balance plus actually being able to to look through them generally compromised by the CCD. Right angle eyepieces add to the balance problem. I know that with plate solving you can do away with the finder but I also find that MaximDL can get quite flakey with plate solving sometimes. Anyone got any interesting solutions?
