EQ5 counterweights with 20mm bore

I have determined that Vixrn counterweights for the SPX may not be the best option. Vixen counterweights are all quite light and thick rather than wide. I have run out of real estate on the CW bar.

What would be best is 2 x Skywatcher Eq5 5kg CW’s (afaik they have a 20mm hole for the bar)

Hi Chris

I have one of these Celestron Counterweights - 17 lbs Designed to fit 19mm counterweight shafts.

https://www.sirius-optics.com.au/mou...ht-17-lbs.html

My photo shows it with a Vixen SP/SP-DX CW shaft, which I believe is the same as the GP/GP-DX CW shaft.

Cheers

Dennis

EDIT: On our uncalibrated bathroom scales it weighs is at just under 8kgs.

That might be perfect. Let me know when you’re keen for that session with the 152mm and perhaps we can test it. This week is going to be clear from Monday night onwards I believe.
