VIXEN DED108SS 4 Element F5 (Petval-Nagler) design ASTROGRAPH

Selling my highly regarded and VERY RARE
VIXEN DED108SS 4 Element (Petval-Nagler) design ASTROGRAPH.

As a Vixen tragic I purchased this some time ago after selling my Takahashi FSQ106edx4 as Vixen designed and built this as a direct alternative to the highly regarded Tak FSQ106. Having used both I know which I prefer but that decision is for the next owner.

Comments from CloudyNights discussion forums on this telescope…..
It's moderately heavy at 6kg, but there's a lot of glass - 4 elements in total (Petzval-Nagler design). Tube is hefty, focuser is incredible! There are 2 focuser tensioner screws - one seemingly moderates the rearward travel friction, one the forward. It'll hold a LOT of weight (seeing these were made to hold the old 6x7 film cameras). Never going to need to even think of changing this focuser (not that I could!),as it is pure silk (but I have always liked the old Vixen R&P's). The knobs are Takahashi-esque silver anodised aluminium, though solid.

For the first time today, I looked through it visually. I won't bore with details, but it was mind-blowingly spell-bindingly brilliant! Better than the Taks I have looked through. INCREDIBLE contrast, INCREDIBLE colours (no fringing, of course).

This is the perfect astrograph for medium format and 35mm chips and also gives you the sweetest spot for smaller chip CCD cameras.

PLEASE NOTE
• The HEQ5 Pro Mount is not for sale at present
• The ASI1600MM Pro is not part of this sale
• The APOGEE ALTA U8300 Kodak Medium Format Mono camera is already for sale on IIS
• The STARLIGHT EXPRESS SXUFW-2T will be sold on IIS shortly

I have since been fortunate enough to buy and established my remote operated Sirius Dome - Meade LX200 ACF F10 14” SCT and EQ8R Mount. As it has taken me almost 4 months to get it all up and running remotely and I have no intension of making any further changes the DED108SS deserves to be used and enjoyed by someone, not sitting in my office.
