Talking The two great nebula's

Gday, had a great night of stargazing....finally on annual leave and the first time in ages where i just got myself immersed with looking upwards Had some time to take some pics of M42 and the Eta Carinea neb

Thanks Gary, actually your fine Orion image from the other night posted here gave me motivation to pull out the camera last night oops forgot the settings etc ...
M42-15x240sec @400iso with a 70-300Ed nikkor lens/D70 set at 300 5darks
NGC3372-5x200 @640iso with a 70-300ED nikkor lens/D70 set at 270mm 5DF

Ric, i had a go at both of those last night as well, was out untill about 3am, but alas, the tracking wasn't happy, or it was the occasional stiff breeze that caused little vibrations, anyway, total delete job, but i was a good night in all, very clear.

I was hoping to spot another one of those Fire Balls, but it was not to be.

Nice, Beren. I especially like the way that M42 looks like it's hanging there in space.
