My Pride And Joy

This is my EQ6/ED80 set-up, it doesn't stack up to that thing of beauty Stu has posted, but i love it, will love it even more once i get my polar alignment up to standard.

Hi guys,

Here's my gear. There is a C8 on a super polaris mount which has a full aperture solar filter and a standard Bintel 10" dob when I just want to throw something in the car and head for darker skies.

Regards

Glenn

Hi Rumples,

Sorry, I think the original jpg's were too large, let's try again.

My brand new LX200 10"

Hey guy's,
The LX200GPS-SCT 10' arrived today.
I put it together and had a glamour photo shoot done.
Here is the Pic.
I will test it out tonight, we have 5 planets to look at and the whole universe to explore.
First light report to follow tomorrow.

G,day

As promised here is another one of my scopes the 80mm short tube. I have also replaced the plastic knobs on this, got a better diagonal and made the tripod attachment out of jarrah and chopsticks. When my daughter was young she pushed the telescope and the tripod it was attached to over and it smashed the plastic base.

O.k.

Here's the upgraded scope then.

The OTA is still the same cheapie, but good enough for the moment. I pulled it to bits & did some work on it over the xmas break. I've just resprayed the inside with a 'wrinkle plus' black paint, which seems to deaden down the light reflections inside the tube quite a bit. I've also given the outside a nice 'venetian red' duco, with a few coats of clear.

But more importantly I now have a much nicer & sturdier mount - thanx to westsky (David) I picked up a nice CG-5 GT at a good price. Works a treat and should be just the ticket for doing some pics down the track.
