SkySafari turning off mount tracking

Hi All,
Last night I was using SkySafari 7 Pro and ASIAIR plus. I was in the process of imaging NGC2070. I launched SkySafari and chose the command to connect to the mount. This caused the mount to stop tracking and trashed the sub. I was able to repeat the fault by reconnecting SkySafari in the same manner. I am using “EQMod with Skysafari” setting on ASIAIR. I have not had this problem with Skysafari 6.

Does anyone know the fix for this?

Many thanks.

SB

I don't know about SkySafari, but some imaging suites can be configured to stop tracking when the mount is connected. Usually done as it is safer to have the mount stop on connection rather than the opposite, where it might well start tracking on connection and eventually have a crash.

I agree with Paul and also no nothing about Sky Safari but recommend you connect your mount , planetarium and capture software when mount is parked, then initiate a Goto to start your session, it’s the safest method
The sequencing of your software can be an issue too on some programs
Sorry can’t offer any further help

Thanks Martin and Paul
My usual process is turning on ASIAIR, Mount and attached peripherals. Goto the target and plate solve. I then sync the mount and begin imaging. Then turn on Skysafari and connect to ASIAIR. Skysafari then shows the location of the object above the horizon. Later I can tap another target on Skysafari screen and the mount will slew to that target. I find this useful when choosing multiple targets in a session.

This worked in Skysafari V6 but not V7. V7 turns off the Mount if you connect the software to ASIAIR.
