M8 Lagoon Nebula Startools OSC Narrowband

Had a great imaging session last night on the South Coast and captured about 4 hours of quality data on M8 Lagoon Nebula ( probably for the final time this year ) Moon was waning at 70%
Same set up and gear
NexDome Obs
8 f5 GSO newt
EQ6-R pro mount
ZWOASI2600MC set in Ascom Lowest Read Noise, Gain 100 , cooled to -10C
Optolong L Extreme OSC NB filter
78 x 3 minute dithered guided subs
Tracking and Goto EQMOD and Ascom Stellarium
Framed focused and captured with APT
PHD2 Multistar guiding at 0.70 arc sec error total
Subs reviewed in Astap
Stacked in DSS
Processed in Startools V1.7 Compose ( set for OSC Narrowband Bi colour )

Selected a few SHO presets in the Colour Matrix with only minor tweaks in saturation and colour bias ( mainly reducing the green bias )
Created Star masks and coloured the Stars independently from the main image
The 2600MC amazes me every time I use it , at Gain 100 Lowest read noise , you still get the benefit of good dynamic range but not at full well. The final image was so clean and low in noise , I only had to apply a 2 pixel noise reduction
Very pleased with the final OSC images

5 x OSC Narrowband bi colour SHO versions
1 x OSC Narrowband Synthetic Luminance version
2 x OSC Synthetic Luminance Crop versions to show close in detail

Comments welcome
Thanks

Very nice data and very good processing. Oh to have an observatory! I agree with your comments about the ASI2600MC. Number two of your images is my preference.

A very good demonstration of processing techniques M.

I missed that night, too tired after fishing all day.

Once again some very nice work and well done

Thanks very much
Yes an Obs is wonderful, took 8 months to arrive from Canada and 3 to 4 months to set up the site and get up and running. Also put a big hole in my retirement kitty too. Had to twist the arm of the financial controller ( my misses)
Cheers

Thanks Marc,
Captured some really good data on this one, makes a huge difference
Also happy how Startools performed on a OSC narrowband data set
Probability the best M8 I’ve imaged since starting the hobby nearly 5 years ago.
Cheers
Martin
