Off Axis Guide recommendations

Hi. Could anyone recommend a good quality and reasonably priced off axis guide for a ZWO 290 guide camera. I brought a Celestron OAG but the first time I was carefully attaching it to my Celestron 925 OTA the prism fell out onto the floor and chipped. I could not believe it as I thought Celestron made quality products. I have requested repair or replacement under warranty but I am concerned that the design of the flimsy prism may cause it to fall out again.

You can buy replacement prisms from Edmund Optics and glue one in sparingly yourself. I have done that.

I use Astrodon MMOAGs and they are very solid and reliable but a bit expensive. There are many available these days. Have a look at Teleskop Services website. QHY and ZWO also sell OAGs cheaply.

Greg.

If your main camera is ZWO I'd look at getting a ZWO OAG makes it part of the ecosystem

Actually, in the generic guiders I like the QHY guiders better than the ZWO ones. I have an OAG-M for one of my setups. The other will be a full ZWO kit with the M68 OAG which I like compared to the smaller ZWO one as it bolts to the face of the cam or filter wheel instead of threaded fittings.
