The night astro expedition was very hazy. At least some haze is pretty standard here nearly every day of the year. I've seen about three clear days in the last 11 months Sometimes visibility down to under a km. Also, although it was about the darkest location in Northern Israel based on the light pollution map, I could see the distant lights of around 200,000 houses, shops etc. all around.

Yes I can imagine it's near impossible to find dark skies there and I remember the haze.

ha ha tama one of my only claims to fame in life is that "herself" spent an obscene amount of money on sunglasses in my shop in about an hour
a weird thing when her PR lady gave me this credit card that was made of stone or something................. well it declined!, it was an amex and my eftpos was not set up for it ha ha

Just saw this post a pic section so thought I'd get in board.
I'm a 29 year old truck from the Mornington peninsula Victoria. Probly would not look like someone who spends their free time and weekend nights staring through an eyepiece but I'm sure amateur astronomers come in all shapes and sizes. Maybe this pic will give you guys who've helped me out an idea of who you've helped haha
