First attempt at Jupiter

My first attempt at imaging Jupiter, so learning new software.
Elevation was only 35 deg, but I wanted to beat the clouds that were surely coming.

25% of 3000 frames. I think I need to experiment with frame rate and gain as the FR was only about 38 fps.

M14 SCT @ f/10 with a ASI462 and IR cut off filter. The IR bandpass is on back order.

ASICap, PIPP, Autostakkert, Registax.

That's a great result Chris!
I had the same introduction with my first go as well. It's a balancing act trying to get the most out of the settings but with a few variations of exposure and gain you will eventually hit the mark.
I found cropping in on the ROI makes a difference (using a smaller portion of the sensor).

Thanks Anthony - I will certainly experiment with settings and the software.
I'll also choose a smaller image size to help reduce file size.
