During the Black Friday sale, I bought three Amazon Echo Dot units for $19 each, which are normally $59 each at Amazon.

Now, apart from asking Alexa to play music or answer any question all around the house, they also act as an inexpensive intercom - I can ask Alexa to send out a message to all six units in the house when I can't find my wife.
Cheers,
Renato

Mindless scam. A particular product I'm looking is advertised at "15% off", but the same product can be found cheaper at the "regular" price on the very same site than the so-called 15% of deal.

lmao

After some looking around on certain stores' websites after the big hoopla emblazoned all over their homepages, it seems that black Friday is any of the following:

-Discounts only on very expensive products, but still expensive for the avg consumer
-Discounts on cheap low end junk
-Jacked up prices on the stuff you actually want, or the majority need/can afford, then discounted back to the "regular" price (or sometimes even higher)

Can often get better deals on products on any normal day of the week anyway.

I think the sellers out there think the general public are stupid, and some probably are.
They see bargain/ discounts and just don't question it and buy it even if they don't want it.

I went looking for a specific brand, specific item for my youngest daughter's upcoming 8th birthday yesterday.

Went to the big factory outlet in Canberra. Found what I wanted on "sale" (they still claimed Black Friday clearance) for $67.90.

Went on eBay - found the same product with a seller in Melbourne for $43.50 including post. I showed the retail assistant - she just shrugged, we both laughed and I went outside and ordered it. It'll be here on the 11th.

I did score some good prices (not sale prices, just better than Woolworths prices lol) buying my wife a massive assortment of Lindt chocolate for her 40th direct from the Lindt store.

I did manage to find a couple of things I wanted cheaper than normal, like an L-Pro filter for almost $100 cheaper than available here - but had to get it from OS.

Black Friday

As I recall "Black Friday" was originally a Friday which fell on the 13th of a month. As one person said, it an Americanism for shops to make a buck at the end of the year. Guess some are genuine, some ...... well? Caveat empty.
Been a while since I stuck my nose on here.. 2018 to be precise !
Cheers Dave, Perth, Australia.
