Cheap astro gear

Hi all
I found this site in the Ukraine! Amazingly cheap astro gear like Wi-Fi modules, dew heaters and kits etc. I actually went and bought the Wi-Fi module for my etx 80 which also works for my LX65. It's works great and is legit! Have a look.

Years ago there was a belief that you bought KNOWN makes and names, and the quality would be better, (except in the UK where we had Grundig etc that was garbage, sorry but most things made in the UK appear lesser quality, at at 62 I speak from experience).

There was also a time when people said Japanese rubbish I wouldn't touch it (in the 60s)

As a photographer I buy Godox, and many unknown brands and for the price the quality is great.

I have had expensive toasters that lasted a year and £5 ones that lasted 5,

Hi
Yeah I agree. I bought the ' autofi for my meade which was about $60 delivered, instead of the brand Wi-Fi which is over 300 bucks. It works from my mobile using sky safari pro perfectly! I can now use my little etc 80 with a great mobile app. I'm waiting for the 8' dew heater to arrive which was about 70 dollars to arrive as well. It has the full controller built in as well.

I've had one of these on the to buy list for quite some time now...

They get rave reviews on other forums... recommendation is to get the wifi not the blue tooth.. not because of his quality or anything.. just wifi is a more reliable connection than bluetooth, less susceptible to interference.

If you get one or perhaps Matthew could give us a full rundown on the Autofi.. I'd certainly be interested in knowing some more about it...

& you are quite correct Jeremy... unknown, inexpensive does not necessarily equal rubbish... nor does brand name necessarily equal good quality.., couldn't agree more...

AstroGadget

I had Alexander make me a custom RJ12-USB cable - he’s very good to deal with and his products are good value.

Re: Astro-Gadget from the link above. I just bought a GOTO upgrade from them for my EQ5 which works great and looks like good quality. Everything is included including allen keys and cables. You just need 12v power to plug into it. Also a lot cheaper than other options. Delivery was about 40 days to Australia and when I thought I had a problem they answered my email straight away so service seems pretty good. I would definitely use them again.
