Hyperstar C6 v3

For sale is the C6 Hyperstar v3. A nice C6 to put it on is available on the classifieds right now, so here's your chance to put together your 6" f/1.9 Schmidt cam from 2nd hand but tidy parts. One adaptor is included, choose between ZWO cooled and Atik CCDs. The other is available on request, will cost a bit extra.

$420 posted anywhere in AUS, with insurance. No original box but will be packaged securely.

Note: this v3 has a smaller image circle (about 17-18mm from memory) than the newer v4 and the price reflects this. You do still get all the speed (in fact the v3 is slightly faster than the v4). My ASI174, and QHY183 worked well with the v3.

Reason for selling: I now have the v4 so this is surplus.

Thanks for looking

Would Hyperstar c6 work with filter wheel or that potentially block the light coming in? Did you use your camera with filter wheel or without?

Thanks,
Sam

Hi Sam, probably not, and no I didn't. You are correct the FW would obstruct part of the light path. I understand Starizona have a filter drawer to allow fast changes. I use OSCs and when shooting mono, it's usually with a duoband or IR block. There is a 1.25"filter thread inside for that.

Photos added. Optics are clean, a dust blower will take care of most of the rest.
