Skywatcher 12" f/5 newt with Moonlite focuser

Hey all,

I'm saving up for a new mount so next up in the lot I'm selling my Skywatcher 300PDS, with a Moonlite focuser. Focal length is 1500 at f/5.

Other than the focuser the whole thing is stock standard. There are a couple of paint chips on the body, nothing too big, but the mirrors and rest of the scope are in excellent condition. Comes with the stock 2 inch eyepiece.

There's also a hole in the bottom of the focuser to suit mounting a ZWO EAF focuser to the body. Scope was mostly used for observation and a small bit of planetary imaging.

These sell for around $1500 but I'll be letting this one go for $900.

Pick up in Brunswick. Might be possible to post but it'll most likely be expensive to do so.

Can you tell me if you have used this for photography at all? It looks like the moonilght focuser may have raised the focal distance as opposed to the original focuser
If you have can you post some images taken with this?

I tried it briefly for deep sky but the mount wouldn't guide well under that much load. I did use it briefly for some planetary stuff but otherwise I mostly used it for visual.

As for the distance it's actually pretty close to the original, if not slightly shorter. But it's using two of the moonlite spacers, a half inch and full inch, that you can remove if needed.

I am considering this size ota. Which mount were you using?

Apologies if too off topic.

For observation I was using the AZ-EQ6. It was a bit too hefty for deep sky stuff but I've heard that if you hyper tune them, and keep them out of the wind, they can cope
