My attempt at the eclipse

Had a crack at imaging this last night. Was trickier than expected but reasonably happy with the outcome

Taken with the Esprit 120 and ASI533.

Nicely done, it was quite a tricky eclipse with the huge dynamic range.

Cheers

Cheers all

Last time I shot a lunar eclipse it was with a DSLR, easier in many ways than with the 533!

Awesome image Craig. Well captured. I also thought it would be easier than it was to be honest . Took mine with a esprit 80. I thought the craters would just jump out with the moon being so dull in appearance

Cheers. Yes it was surprisingly difficult to capture properly. I think just blind luck that I ended up getting enough sharp frames to make a decent image. I was up to 5-6s of exposure per frame for the darker regions of the moon during totality.

Great stuff, I agree re. the difficulty. I decided to use my SLR instead of my astro rig and was surprised at how dim it actually was when eclipsed. (seems obvious afterwards..haha)
