Question All-sky camera remote installation - anyone done it?

Hi all,

Does anyone have experience with installing an all-sky camera at a remote location where there is no power but is 3G connection? I'm after tehcnical advice.

I have long considered doing this and am thinking about it again.

I have a theory that goes something like this:
1 x Moonglow Tech All Sky Camera
1 x Four Input IP Video Server
1 x Solar panel and power equipment
1 x SLA battery, perhaps as small as 18Ah could well do it.
1 x 3G router
1 x 3G connection

Cost looks to be around the $1,500 mark but I'm keen to reduce this.

I need to significantly refine all but the first two items, I haven't managed to work out exactly what I'll need in regard to solar and haven't yet found the right 3G router. I would probably reduce power requirements by having the gear on a power timer, to only operate at specific strategic times of the day.

Thanks,
Roger.
