First(ish) light with RASA 8 and ASI 533MC

Here is Eta Carinae taken with a RASA 8 and ASI533MC. Used Sharpcap for live stacking - total exposure was 100 odd minutes. Used APP for background calibration.

Nothing earth shattering, but the workflow was really enjoyable! 30 second exposures, and no autoguiding.

Super sharp. Now your only problem will be hard drive space.

30 Sec exposures?

Amazing, what's the f ratio 2.8 or similar?
Are the stars round in all four corners?

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Excellent result Tim, and encouraging at several levels. I absolutely dig the enjoyable-workflow bit, especially when something as good as this comes out. You also appear to have put some thought into how the spikes work out. I think my yet-to-be completed "poor man's RASA" setup (around a hyperstarred C6) will be visiting that area also, once everything is up and running. Inititial trials suggest f/2 is indeed where the fun is. One image, one session, done and done!

So I did have a close look at it today - one side appears to have some slight star elongation on the edge, so I will need to look at it. Might need some collimation, or see if I can adjust the tilt of the camera somehow.

Don't touch the collimation, it is tilt. Check if your distances are right and if the camera is done up snugly
