MiniSHG 07092021

Still working in H alpha.
Clouded out....
A couple of interesting images there seems to be a large filaprom in the north east.
The current AR's are very prominent.
Enjoy

Always interesting, I like the 3rd image best, so much to look at.

Another impressive set of images Ken. I hope that filaprom hangs around a bit longer.

Ken, your setup continues to impress!

Have you considered giving the middle one a wavelet-sharpen in Registax? I just did and now I can't find my socks. You can see the lines more but man it rocks when you zoom out a bit. There's a 3-D sphere of fusing gas hanging in front of me! It's not for me to upload it here though.

Can the SHG be rotated about its optical axis and work in any orientation? If so one could take a series of images like that, then process like a normal stack. That should deal with the lines quite nicely and going just by the single image above, the results of doing that should be approximately unbelievable, especially when more wavelengths get involved.

You are onto something there

Thanks guys!
Mirko,
I appreciate your input. You are more than welcome to tweak and upload any of the images.
Unfortunately the slit in the SHG must be aligned with the direction of the scan. Using an EQ mount this means either RA or DEC.
For various reasons I've gravitated to scanning in DEC.
Today's (080921) images were taken at a faster scan - 9 secand with different filter combinations. Managed to get some Ha, Na1, Fe, Mg1 and CaK images. I'll post them soon.

I have tried to stack 8 Ha images to see if there was an improvement. No real success so far.
Onwards and Upwards

Very well, this just by moving wavelet sliders 4-6 and adding some colour and space. I can only imagine what'd be possible with stacks of these and if I knew what I was doing...

Mirko,
Thanks for that. Interesting.

I'm going to try a faster scan, down to 3-4 sec in the hope that it "freezes" the seeing.
I found using a 2" Baader 7nm H alpha as an ERF for the Ha scans showed an improvement.
Unfortunately using the Baader CCD Blue filter, which I use as an ERF on the CaK filter, didn't live up to expectations in the SHG.
So, at this stage, 7nm H alpha and the ND0.9 plus IR block for other wavelengths.
Onwards and Upwards.
