Ngc 4945

I like this galaxy because it sits in an interesting field. Hampered by cloud, I would liked to have collected more data on this one but the window of opportunity kept getting smaller minute by minute . Last night from my Bortle 6 backyard, modded Canon 550d on a 6 inch f5 Newt, unguided, 320secs.

Not a bad effort considering the conditions... a few fuzzies in that field of view too... well done

That'll do nicely Mick.

Always tedious dodging the clouds.

I have set up SGP to try a few times to recover, that makes life a bit easier and also turn down the volume on the PC

Thanks Rocky, I was surprised for just over 5mins total integration to see there was quite a lot revealed overall.

I wish I had a permanent set up like that Peter, mine is dragging the gear out of the spare room and setting it up at a few locations I have around the house in the yard. Depending on what I'm trying to photograph, what time of year and whether trees interfere, is what determines where I set up!

Centaurus is in a good position for me at the moment, hence photographing ngc 4945. I also shot Omega Centauri earlier in the evening before the clouds rolled in.
