92 mm Stowaway Sign-up List opening

FYI…

Roland is opening up the sign-up list for the chance to order/buy one of these scopes.

https://www.astro-physics.com/92f665

The process is different this time from normal so be sure to read the availability tab on the Astro-Physics telescope page.

May the odds be ever in your favor…

I'm sure it's a great scope and all but... I've never understood why they do that... if I psyche myself up enough to splash the $$$ for such a scope I want to know I can bag one

Why not put out an expression of interest, invite a significant enough deposit and manufacture that quantity?

I kinda agree with you Dunk, so I don't know why I am considering signing up anyway.

Three years ago when AP announced a new release of the Stowaway, Roland thought that a batch of 100 or so would be enough to satisfy the market. They opened up a notification list (April 2018).

Then they realized they had a previous notification list that had not been satisfied so most of the initial 100 went to that previous list of eager buyers. The new notification list was only open for a few days before closing.

It has taken three years and three more batches of over a 100 each time to satisfy that April 2018 list.

Its a great little scope - good luck to those who put their name down for the new raffle. My 92TCC (f/5.3 telecompressor) just arrived so will see how it performs as a portable wide field imager in the coming weeks
