Conversion of old pre GOTO CG5 to allow autoguider interface with old handpaddle

Any one here done this kind of conversion to their older preGOTO GEM ?

See http://www.awrtech.co.uk/remote.htm

I am considering getting AWR in the UK to do the conversion to my old (NON-GOTO) CG5 so I can set it up as an autoguided camera platform, manual guiding it is tedious. Involve adding some circuitry to the old handpaddle and adding an appropriate socket.

I am not interested in adding GOTO to the old CG5 , just an autoguider interface compatible with the Orion Autoguider, this will give this old work horse a new lease of life at minimum cost.

Ian, just buy a drive corrector.

I still have one from my Celestron 8" many many years ago.
It has different rates, guider input, DC to 240V and 240 to 240.
Plus it has a hand controller to speed or slow down manually.

This is what you should be looking for, and locally.
