Lovely to see this through my 6-inch Dob.
Need to take great care, given its location close to the Sun.

Image from today, January 4. Turned out to be a clearer day than I expected.
Looks like we won't get the complete circle this inferior conjunction.

Pretty cool Richard. You can see the bright limb extending quite a bit in the dark side.

Observed Venus today just at inferior conjunction. Wife confirmed the observation
Daredevil Astronomy.
Could not get an image as clouds were such a pest.
Hopefully next time.
