Just about any cover of a Bob Dylan song is better than the original
Here's one of my favorites by Jimi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_J2WdcW0ZY4

My two faves (that I know of. I'm not very good when it comes to who-did-what-first):

Marylin Manson's "Sweet Dreams"
&
Sinead O'connor's "Nothing Compares to You" (originally by Prince)

Yes true, eg This Wheel's on Fire by Julie Driscoll. She used to be the publicist for The Yardbirds, whose producer "discovered" her.

I always thought Linda Ronstadt would have been great doing this number

Funny, I managed never to hear the original until well after Limp Bizkit did the cover. I prefer the original myself, first time I heard it was live at the Australian Grand Prix concert that The Who did a couple of years ago, they are simply an awesome group performing live.

But then again I love his voice so much I could listen to him singing the White Pages.

"Money" - was made for Reggae!
One of the best cover albums! They also did a cover of Radiohead's OK Computer called "Radiodread"

Here's a cover of The Angels (Angel City in the Us) classic Face the Day by US band Great White, jazzed up a little and at the same time quite a bit heavier but does the original justice none the less, read the lyrics and take a listen, sometimes I just cant get this song out of my head.

Can I 'ave your autograph mister?

What ever happened to you, Steve and Eddie forming a band?
Black Hole wasn't it going to be called?
I'd be your number one groupie.
