Just a few quick questions, hopefully with equally quick answers,

What is the magnetic deviation (roughly) at the site?
What is the latitude and longitude?

One final quesion, when daylight savings kicks in over the camp, if we are up at that time will the stars "jump back 15 degrees?" I have never actually been up when savings kicks in, just change it before I go to bed.

Dave, will ring the Manager and ask about power in Bunkhouses. There is power adjacent to the viewing area.

Hey Ken I still need to pay for the extra nights mate. please let me know how much i owe you for this. Plane tickets are booked and hire car is on stand by. All I need now is a scope small enough to get on a plane or maybe a pair of binos worth bringing along. Is there anyone I could rent a scope off for a few days???

"quite cheat" Gazz?? Is that a bit of a Freudian slip of the fingertips on the keyboard?

I'm sure there will be plenty of scopes to look through and you won't get bored even if you don't have your own scope. Hey, I'll be bringing two!

I'm not taking my scope. For me, it'll be more about socialising and looking through other people's scopes than spending time on my own in the corner of the paddock

Mike, make sure you bring your 14mm with you it would be nice to try it out.

While we're at it Guys and Gals, with the influx of new members it would be nice to see a few more participants. Even if only for one or two nights.

Hi All,
As it is not long to go to the camp.
I thought I would let some know of the sky highlights that will be on show.

First and foremost the Planet Mars will be close to opposition. Best time for observing.
Mars will test scopes and Observing skills.
Venus will be high in the Western sky after sunset, with Mercury a little lower.

Southern & Northern Taurids Meteors will be close to peak. I have observed this shower many times and are very good. Bring your banana lounges!!

So many Deep Sky objects to choose, to many to list here. Let’s hope for great weather and clear nights. For those just thinking about coming along I urge you to do so. It should be a super time, and to meet fellow IceinSapce Members and enjoy the night and day skies.

I will have my scope and EP’s and I’m sure there will be plenty of scopes for others to look through. See you there.
