Connery is the best Bond, but Daniel Craig was great in the reboot.

OHMSS is the best movie, and I thought Lazenby was okay in it. I ignore the Moore years

From Russia With Love the best book, but I adore the attempted assassination of M scene in Man With The Golden Gun.

Lazenby wasn't too bad, and he had one of the best lines and one of the first breaking the 4th wall lines in movies when he gets rejected on the beach by a girl

"That wouldn't have happened to the other guy"

Hilarious

Me! Someone had to

I thought he was pretty good - seemed to encapsulate the Bond of the books quite well. Early Bond Connery is the best though ... first two or three.

Just had a great idea
Why not put Billy Connoly in the role of James Bond?
I voted Pierce Brosnan

Hey Doug, (goober)

You openly admit that Connery is the best. Yet you voted for Lazenby.???

That's OK You felt for the underdog.

I think all of them are great actors. I do however see them fall short of the real tough guy. They have no muscle. Not any of them. 6 months in the gym and they would look the part. They fall short.

Cheers

I grew up with the Roger Moore era, yet he's near the bottom of my list (he can't act for poop if you ask me, which you didn't )

1. Daniel Craig - personifies the modern "spy" - actually, more realistic for any era than all of them
2. Sean Connery - good acting, well done always

The list thus endeth Brosnan I can only remember as the other guy in Mrs. Doubtfire, Dalton was acceptable (if only just), Lazenby was pretty mediocre at best (can't always push an Aussie over the line)

Craig personifies the modern 007, licensed to kill and that is what he'll do without compunction man or woman IMO.

He shows the cuts and bruises which you'd expect from someone that has as many bingles as Bond does.

Moore was rubbish

Brosnan lacked the tough guy image

Connery was suave but it was more about the gadgets and girls in his day

Dalton could have been successful

Lazenby another Brosnan

Girls, gadgets, humour and exotic locations - that was the Bond formula. Bond is dead now, the newer episodes are just forgettable, run-of-the-mill action. Might as well watch Mission Impossible or Jason Bourne.

Cheers
Steffen.

Marty I dont think "spies" need to be tough guys.......... I dont think Arnie would be able to do the job ( except maybe in True Lies---also great funny movie), cuase it would attract to much attention.........

Funny thing though about attracting too much attention....how many times did JB walk into a hotel and the reception clerk would greet him with " ah Mr Bond, welcome.....your room is 123 ze exzecutive zuite"??????

Fleming's Bond was little more than a thug, and so Craig is probably the most Bond-like in that respect. He plays him as being a hard man who is a long way from perfect, which is probably the most accurate depiction of them all, so far.

Still, a lot of people I know reckon Connery was best.
