Fantastic result! Well done. Pity the sky wasn't clear for 3rd contact. I was lucky as there was a large chunk of cloud free sky for this contact.

Thanks all, much appreciate the comments.

Peter W, you always seem to get better prom detail but I suspect this is because I do not do a run for the prominences and I choose to brighten those up. Having the extra aperture would help you too. Yes I did see proms of course but there was nothing really large. Mind you I have another run to process yet and there might be something in there.

Peter (Poita) we had heaps of cloud but this was not the issue for me, I had to hurry to get data and the etalon settings were not optimal.

John, I don't think that is atmosphere. I think it is more likely processing artifacts myself, but it may be atmosphere.

Vivek, under the image you will find all the details of the image including equipment. Basically I processed 6 panels (I actually wanted 12 or so) with 700 frames in each panel. Then I do a combine in photoshop which is not perfect but I need advice on a mosaic program that will even out the frames.

Holy Cow Paul!

What a spectacular image.

One of the most impressive astro images I've ever seen. So incredibly sharp. You can even see Venus's atmosphere. Amazing.

My hat is off to you Sir.

Greg.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your comments.

Thanks Greg, that is high praise indeed. I am happy you like the image.

OIC, yes I saw that but I did not think the image was so at its best.

Thanks guys for all the responses. Glad you like the image. I was aiming for something much more spectacular but weather did conspire to put that to a halt. Perhaps the eclipse in Novemeber will afford me the time I need for this project in mind.

Paul a very nice shot under the circumstances. I'm sure you can tweak it some more, but you can only do so much with the data if conditions were variable for the panels.
