But the 70's............whoa, Tull had so many great songs (and still do), Yes's version of Simon and Garfunkel's "America" was brilliant, the album version of "Autobahn" by Kraftwerk, Billy Thopre's "Most People I know" and/or "It's almost Summer" Deep Purple's album "Come Taste The Band".............there's just too much to list.

There's a few of us around, including other astronomers. I bought Hark the Village Wait on spec in '77 (so I was a late starter) and fell in love. I've got most Span albums but only 1 by Maddy (must remedy that!) In a similar vein, if you don't know Pentangle you should.

Supertramp. If everyone was listening.
Steely Dan. With a gun.
Bob Dylan. Simple twist of fate.
Richard Clapton. Wintertime in Amsterdam.

How about some classic Aussie music

Skyhooks - Living in the seventies. You can pick any five songs from that album and they are all classics.

Anyone who likes 'Master of the Universe' by Hawkwind is ok.

How about
Anything from Blood on the Tracks by Dylan
Anything from Astral Weeks by Van the Man
Brick House - The Commodores
Doctor My Eyes - Jackson Browne
Locomotive Breath - Jethro Tull
Cam Ye O'er Frae France - Steeleye Span

Don't forget that the worst music was also from the seventies.

Anything by Olivia Neutron Bomb, Dr Hook, David Gates or David Cassidy - and not forgetting 'The Candy Man' by Sammy Davis jnr. yuck.

Ian

First cab off the rank:

Serenade - Steve Miller Band

Cheers,

Everything Jason said! Except, I enjoy 60's music- you know, Diana Ross and all that.

This is a toughy- this is my fav. music decade and to this day, still my most played music.

Undercover Angel (Alan O'Day) my most fav. to this day.
Honey, Honey (Abba)
Slipping Away (Max Merrit & the Meteors)
Welcome Back (John Sebastian)
Baker Street (Gerry Rafferty)
Hooked on a Feeling (Grand Funk Railroad)
Sky High (Jigsaw)
Every Which Way but Loose (Eddie Rabbit)

Sorry, couldn't stop at 5, was hard enough squeezing everything into that list.
