Just thought I would bump this thread to the top, I have received a couple of requests since fixing the lathe a few months ago...I need to recover the $10 it cost for the belt . Let me know if you are interested.

I just noticed it has been a while, so there may be some new members who would like an extension bar. Let me know if you are interested.

I need the diameter of the existing bar, they seem to vary betweeen 16 and 18mm, and the length, most have been 200mm. Much longer than this may put excessive strain on the joining bolt. Also the thread for the retaining screw at the end, stops the counterweights from falling off. Most are M6, but some have been different, always the ones I didn't check I use a high tensile bolt of this thread to join the extension to the existing bar.

Just finished of a couple more bars this afternoon. Let me know if you would like one. I can also do any other simple machining if you need any "bits".

Are you still making these in 2015?

I'm looking for a counterweight extension shaft for my EQ6 Pro and came across this thread.
Are you still making these?

I'll PM you for details...

Another happy customer

Finally after a long search found this thread and contacted Trevor right away. He responded swiftly and is still in business...
Made me a counterweight bar extension shaft for my HEQ5PRO within a day and posted it immediately.
Fits perfectly! I can finally balance my scope properly without the need for extra weight on my mount... Great job Trevor!
Highly recommended if you're in need of an extension bar.

Cheers
Mathias

Hi Trevor,
I have been trying to PM you recently about the shaft specs, and noticed my messages were not registering so I assumed my PC had an issue. But this morning I attempted again and this time saw a notice that your inbox was full and would not accept any more mail!

No big hurry my end though, I'm lucky to do astro stuff once a week between weather and work.

Cheers,
Steve.

A perfect fit and a fine solution, very nice work. It'll also fit the SW eq3 in the very unlikely event it needs more balancing.

Thank you Trevor, tried it out and it works perfectly with no discernible flex.

Cheers
Steve
