Nothing is wrong with the ED 80 but its mounted on the C11 with Guide rings.....Unless I pull it apart and use Marks celestron mount plate to fit on his EQ6 that might work but not going to bother if Marks already got his setup.

I dont have my mount ATM...its being tested at Star Optics.

Wahoo...Grant you dont mind taking a few pics through your scope...we wont do it all night...just a few pics if you like...and you can even take all the credit.

You can show him how to wedge mount an LX200 Tony. You've had plenty of experience with them

I might be able to drive myself out there Andrew as I told the boss and she seems receptive. I will decide closer to date but I should be able to make it out.

Great news Darren - ignore my e-mail just sent!

I have sent out a few PM's to locals to stir up some more interest (including Erwin - with the promise of some time with Tony's 20Da ) - so we will see how that goes! It is a good roll up already and there is the likelyhood of more How much of the olive grove did you remove Mark?

Invite to The Grove

Thank you for the invite to come along on Saturday 24/9. Alas I'm attending a wedding that evening so I can't make it. I would certainly like to come along to the next Grove get together though. It sounds like an ideal location for casual observing and great company I intend going up to see AstroRon on the next dark weekend.

Cheers,

Nicko

For those of us who are unable to make what is sounding like a great night at Marks place, Astroron has opened his doors for the following weekend. Just thought I'd let you know before I start a new thread.

Tony - sounds great. I havn't mounted the wedge before. Glad to hear you are experienced at this!!! I will try a few times in the daylight. My canon adaptors should be here by then - I will be very happy to do LOTS of imaging as I have only had one night of tinkering with the 300D in piggyback, so look forward to what you can teach me.

I'm really sorry to disappoint you Grant, but I was only sticking it to striker. The rest of the gang can fill you in on the on the weekend. Its a long short story. If you read what is said beside his avatar you might get part of the joke.

hahaha....the only wedge I have seen comes with Sour cream....I had the same scope as you except in a 10" but never got a wedge....Paul is just stirring.

I definetly have no experience with wedges...I have all the adapter and focal reducer for your scope so nothing else is needed.

Looks like a good turn out already....hope the weather stays away...there saying that front in WA is heading over here for the weekend....go away.

Hi everyone,

Andrew just pointed out this get-together, but sadly I'll be on a dive trip that Saturday and won't be back home before 6 pm. I'll try to make it another time, always enjoy good company.

Cheers,

Erwin

Apologies from me as well. Unfortunately I will be away in Canberra on business over the weekend. Most of the time, I am Brisbane based and I hope to catch up with other IIS locals next time.

I don't think I'll be able to make it either. We'll be working the Coffee Cart all day Saturday, and wouldn't be up to an all night session after that (ironically.... should we be making our coffee stronger?).
I'm due for a weekend pass next month, so if anyone wants a get together then, let us know and I'll be happy to join up.

Hey Jeanette,

I don't think it will be an all nighter unless you want it to. I will be heading home when the moon comes up
