Nice xmas present for the wife you will have some great times looking up above, now all you need is to pray for clear skies and your half way there oh and lots of mozzie repellent my first nite out with the scope i was eaten alive oh and be prepared to want bigger and better toys in the future

thanks all..

Hi All..thanks for advice...i am not the thread starter but in a similair position to him.
Kev I will look for the six stars, I have a friend who is into this and he is hopefullly going out with me somewhere dark on the weekend...He doesn't believe you!! But i have told him Ice in Space cannot be wrong...
I am keen to get out again any central coasters know a good dark local place to see? I have a streetlight in my garden...thought about the reptile park carpark? any ideas?

Note that the "E" and "F" stars in the Trapezium are a lot fainter and you'll need reasonable seeing conditions and respectable collimation to see them cleanly in an 8".
