Just move over to the Lake area, near Wellington, and zoom in on the southern end. Mookerawa looks to be the blue area at the bottom of the lake.

The main Lake campground is located to the north and there is green light coming from that area.

Conclusion is it is not in Bretti's category for darkness. And that is probably going to be the case for any campsite that provides lighted amenities buildings, shops, area lights etc.
I can't say I can put a lot of faith in that light pollution map when it comes to remote dark sites. There is a bright blip just to the west of Ilford and just north of ASNSW Wiruna, that is brighter than the township of Ilford. Nothing out there but trees, kangaroos, cows and the odd homestead.

Trevor,

Agreed there are some oddities in that map. Another example is a spot of blue smack in the in the blue gum forest, deep in the blue mountains north of Medlow Bath. The only thing there is a disused coal mine, well and truly shut. And I know from Mt Banks there is definety no light in that location.

Shipley Plateau near Mt Blackheath is shown as dark as Wiruna, but it isn't, there are houses, farms and a few streetlights.

Clarence and Zigzag are apparently dark, but defiantly aren't, likewise Valley Heights (I think) between Bell and Clarence where there definitely are houses and street lights.

Knowing this is a Microsoft effort it doesn't surprise me to find issues when you dig more closely.
