I've put in my leave for the weekend, just hope the weather behaves. Don't forget to bring an Esky with ice as it looks to be a hot day/warm night! Keep an eye on the fire danger gauge too!
Jen, there are plates and cutlery in the kitchen end of the Clubroom.
Hope to see you all there!
Cheers!

Woohoo!
Just scored an unexpected leave pass as wifey has generously changed her weekend plans.
Now if we can just sort out the clouds....

Heading to Heathcote or my place AC?

If Heathcote I will have to check on plans, I know I can manage a night at my place but not sure about LMDSS as we have something on Sunday. If that starts late enough for me to get back and shower then count me in too and I can bring my tent along (It is well big enough for 2)

Open to either, but never having imaged at LMDSS it might be fun to join the others. (weather permitting) Can always leave early in the am if need be.

Just checking up on the young blokes movements the following day.

I am on call for work as well but that should not pose a problem, I have not normally had phone coverage problems at LMDSS and the worst I would have to do would be leave during the night if something did come up that I could not deal with on the phone.

Though the weather currently looks a bit ordinary, looking better at my home at the moment though that is an hour away and nearly on the other side of the great divide.

Looking OK at home at the moment, according to accuweather Kilmore is showing "Very good" for astronomy on Saturday night.

Just a pity we really do not have the facilities for a crowd or we could set up in the middle paddock if Heathcote is no good for the night and try to sort out something to block the headlights. The light screen disappeared in the bushfire!

Edit, OK, in the last hour, Heathcote has gone from "Poor" to "Very good" time to ignore it for a few days and see how it looks later.

Accuweather is still showing "Good" astronomy conditions on Saturday. Same as here at home as it stands. Time to look at dusting off the tent, And I had better buy myself a decent battery.

Hi Paul. The LMDSS is in the North Country district and is currently listed as very high. At this time 5.46pm 20/11/14 the BOM forecasts for possible showers. The Australia all SE Cloud Forecast shows cloud nearby in the North Central.
Lets see what happens on the day!

http://www.weatherzone.com.au/vic/no...ntry/heathcote is showing clear skies for this afternoon and evening, so I'll be there as well
I've logged in to the ASV site and have noted the access codes, so as soon as Will is home from school we'll be off...
Looking forward to seeing some of the Snake Valley people again.
Peter

Good luck with the weather guys

Due to the uncertainty of the weather and the fact that I need at least 2 nights up there with all my gear, my plan is to go up Wednesday night next week for 3 nights. Most of of the objects I am shooting don't get high enough until midnight so the moon should not interfere.

Clear skies,

John K.

Jen, don't forget the mozzie repellent as well!
We were up there a month ago (sunny day, but clouds and rain at night) and we were lucky that someone in the radio shed was able to find some aeroguard for us. The mosquitoes were horrible around dusk.
I went out and bought a new bottle of roll-on repellent this morning...
