Just typing in Kulnura, Australia , worked for me.
Someone who knows the area could refine this down to the actual observing site.

Damn All I have is high res of trees the house has not been built yet, so the image is at least 2 years old, its clear though, I can easily see the road markings.. Ill have to wait for the next update . but suppose clear skies goes both ways,,, ...

Oh and according to google earth 17.35.3 S 145.34.4 E. point of interest thats about 3km from where I really are according to GPS, so its not bad really...

Very kind of you people to show exactly where your valuable scopes are kept.. Is this not a bit risky?

Google Earth is awesome, way bettet than the old Nasa worlwind. I have been using GE and maps.google.com to give people directions etc.

Also they have added a street map overlay at maps.google.com for Australia, so you can see the names of the roads etc. Soon it will do directions. Has anyone been able to get these road maps to come up in GE, it does this for US but not for Australia. Also the magnification of GE can go higher than map.google.com

3 Old Observing Sites

1. Lacaille observed from 7 Strand St. Cape Town in 1751-2.
lat -33.921, long 18.422
There is nothing left, just a big building in the centre of this image.
The CT railway station is in the lower right corner of the image.
2, Dunlop observed from Hunter St Parramatta in 1826.
-33.816, 151.002
There is nothing left, just a big building in the centre of this image.
St Johns church is just up the street on the RHS of the image.
The railway line is across the bottom.
3. John Herschel observed from south of Cape Town 1834-38.
-33.983, 18.460
There is an obelisk at the spot in the Grove Primary School.
Its shadow can be seen in the image.
